MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating two separate homicides from Thursday evening and night.
The first happened around 6:15 p.m., when police say a man was "fatally battered" in the 4600 block of N. 39th St.
The second homicide occurred around 10:30 p.m., when a man was fatally shot in the 6800 block of W. Appleton Ave.
Police do not have suspects in custody in either homicide. They say they continue to investigate motives in both killings as well.
