Five people are in custody following a police chase in Oak Creek Friday evening.

Oak Creek police officers were chasing the suspects when the vehicle crashed in the vicinity of 13th and College near the Comfort Suites hotel shortly after 5 p.m.

The chased vehicle went over the guardrail and was resting in a ditch.

“Five kids came out. I saw one, one kids was hurt from the head. And another one, I don’t know what happened to him but they took two in the ambulance and three in cop cars,” witness Ernesto Sierra said.

John Gillitzer caught the tail end of the crash, which was captured on nearby surveillance video.

“I looked over and there was just a little red car fish tailing and went right through the guardrail,” Gillitzer.

Chopper 4 captured video of three people in handcuffs at the scene.

Police say the incident started after officers were investigating suspicious activity at 14th and Drexel, but didn’t offer any more details.

The five people in the car did not suffer serious injuries.
