MILWAUKEE — For the approximately 7 million travelers who visit Milwaukee each year, new/revamped retail and food shops are planned at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.

Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele has announced that 22 restaurants and shops will be remodeled or replaced by next year, according to a news release.

"Today's announcement features an outstanding mix of local brands that reflect the spirit and culture of Milwaukee, as well as established national brands that travelers know and trust," Abele said.

Concourse C will receive a new Cousins Subs, new Starbucks Coffee and a remodeled Chili's Too.

Concourse D will receive a new Great American Bagel Company and a remodeled Usingers.

As for new retail brands, a partnership with Paradies Lagardere will carry a nearly $7 million investment into the airport. This means that no property tax dollars will be used from Milwaukee County.

Stores include Summerfest Marketplace, TripAdvisor, PGA, Third Ward Crossing, Bay View Exchange and many more.

All renovations are expected to be completed by the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
