Authorities say a Milwaukee man admitted to drinking half a bottle of vodka and two beers before getting behind the wheel with a 5 year old in the car.
A Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies pulled 33-year-old Earl Matthews over shortly after midnight after noticing his car swerving on I-43 southbound near Fond du Lac Avenue.
Matthews tested .25 on a PBT, according to a news released.
Officials say a 5-year-old child was in the back seat and wasn't restrained by a seatbelt or child safety seat.
Matthews was arrestes and charged with DUI-1st offense and also charged with DUI-1st with minor under the age of 16 in vehicle. If convicted, he could face up to six months in jail.
Child Protective Services allowed the child's mother to take the child home.
