Someone may have died in an explosion at a Milwaukee home last week initially believed to have occurred at a vacant house.

According to search warrants, authorities believe one person may have been killed in the home located at the intersection of 24th Place and Auer Avenue.

Charred clothing was found inside the home, which was under renovation, and a witness claims to have spotted someone on the second floor before it collapsed.

Firefighters said when they arrived the flames were at least 70 feet high. Ten minutes later, the house collapsed.

Neighbors told firefighters at the scene that they heard a dog barking inside the home after the explosion.
