Three Milwaukee girls got to walk a Hollywood red carpet this weekend.

A photo of the girls dressed as characters from the film "Hidden Figures" recently went viral, leading to an invite to Saturday's NAACP Image Awards. The girls stopped by our studio Monday to talk about the experience.

"We met Taraji [P. Henson], we met Janelle Monae, and Octavia Spencer," one of the girls said.

How does it feel to know that your picture has been shared thousands of times, we asked?

"Cool, very cool," they said.

"Hidden Figures" is based on the true story of three African-American women who played an integral role in NASA's Mercury space program.

MPS recently sent thousands of students to see the movie, in order to inspire a love of science and math.
