MILWAUKEE -- The latest trend in dessert has arrived in Milwaukee.

Brady Sreet's "Fro Zone" is now open, and specializes in Thai-inspired rolled ice cream, according to TODAY'S TMJ4 partner the Milwaukee Business Journal.

The new spot for frozen treats, located at 1320 E. Brady St. between Arlington and Warren, hopes to capitalize on the rolled ice cream trend, which started with street vendors in Thailand and quickly spread to the US.

Co-owner Mike Kaid came up with the idea when he couldn't find anywhere in the area to experience ice cream in a rolled form.

"I wanted to try it out somewhere in Wisconsin," Kaid told the Business Journal. "But unfortunately there was nothing in the Wisconsin area or Milwaukee as a whole, so I just decided to open one up.”

The shop will be set up in an open format, so customers can watch their ice cream getting folded. Fro Zone will also serve drinks like Colectivo coffee and bubble tea.
