OAK CREEK – The Milwaukee Fire Hazmat team was called to the Oak Creek Police Department after receiving a suspicious envelope in Tuesday's mail.

The envelope was addressed to the Oak Creek Police Department’s address, but with a name not associated with their department.

On Tuesday, the Oak Creek Police Department was notified by the Green Bay Police that a suspicious envelope was mailed to their station on Monday. A police captain and secretary there became sickened after the letter was opened.

Oak Creek police contacted the FBI and it was determined the best course of action was to have the Milwaukee Fire Hazmat open the envelope.  Police say the manner was handled to ensure the safety of the employees and the public.

Law enforcement say there is no threat to the public at this time.

Right now, it’s not clear if these two incidents are connected. The FBI is investigating this incident as well.
