MILWAUKEE — Attention Milwaukee artists! If you're looking for a chance to show off your art, look no further.

Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 and The Avenue are seeking submissions for "a mural in the sky" in Westown. The intended canvas will be the south-facing facade of the 2nd Street skywalk between Wisconsin Avenue and Michigan Street. The dimensions of this canvas are 92 feet wide by 15 feet high.

"The first-of-its-kind mural in downtown Milwaukee will strengthen pedestrian connectivity between existing parking structures and soon-to-open attractions, such as the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Center and 3rd Street Market Hall," said Milwaukee Downtown in a release.

Once completed, the mural will be a part of a public realm improvement projects led by Milwaukee Downtown. In mid-February, digital screens at Wisconsin Avenue and 2nd Street will display work from UW-Milwaukee students.

Artists interested in the opportunity are asked to contact Gabe Yeager at gyeager@milwaukeedowntown.com. The deadline is Feb. 14. Submissions will be reviewed and the finalist will be awarded $25,000 for the project. The project completion date is spring 2020.
