UPDATE: Gov. Walker activates National Guard after violence in Milwaukee

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is seeking a National Guard mobilization to deal with the unrest in Sherman Park Saturday night.
Clarke issued a news release Sunday morning stating that he's consulted with Gov. Scott Walker and Major General Donald Dunbar in regards to the mobilization, and is "involved in ongoing discussions with city officials."
“We cannot allow for a repeat of what happened last night. I am going to utilize all available resources to accomplish that,” Clarke said.

At least 100 protesters skirmished with police Saturday evening, hours after an armed man was fatally shot by an officer near 44th and Auer.
Police said the 23-year-old man was fleeing a traffic stop and was armed with a gun.
Several businesses were looted and burned down during the protests.
It's not clear if Clarke's request will be granted.
