Milwaukee County Treasurer David Cullen is hoping people will step forward to claim $1.8 million in unclaimed funds.

“The $1.8 million in unclaimed funds is a great deal of money, and it belongs to the people who, in these difficult times, could use the money to help make ends meet,” Cullen said in a statement.

To find out if you’re one of the residents owed money, go to the county’s website and enter “unclaimed funds” in the site search field and follow the instructions.

"We are making every effort to get the word out to the general public about these funds," Cullen said.
