MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver noticed a woman struggling to cross a busy road and took the situation into his own hands.

The moment was caught on the bus' camera system. The driver, identified as Justin Bonds, was driving the Purple Line when he spotted a woman attempting to cross at Layton Boulevard and National Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

MCTS said that the woman was using a cane to push herself backward across the street, when she may have become stuck along the median.

Bonds hopped off the bus, running across the street, and helping the woman cross.

"This is the latest example showing that MCTS bus drivers go above and beyond the call of duty, every single day," said MCTS. "We commend Justin for his wonderful act of kindness and compassion."
