MILWAUKEE -- So many sick and injured animals would not be alive today, without help from the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, also known as MADACC.

Many rescues live out healthy lives thanks to donation dollars, from the Annual Walk, Run, Wag event taking place soon on Saturday July 8, 2017.

Workers showed us one dog they took in called Sarah, who would not be alive today without donation dollars raised from this event.

She was an entirely different dog when she first came to MADACC with a broken foot.

Little Sarah's medical bills racked up fast. I was all paid in full thanks to donation dollars.

"When we first opened in 1999, had we had a dog with injuries like that and it didn't get reclaimed by its owner it would have been euthanized," said Kathy Shillinglaw, MADACC.

Sarah gets along with other animals.
