MILWAUKEE -- With the holiday season in full swing, it's only fitting a Milwaukee staple bring back their festive display for the 13th year.

MillerCoors' Holiday Lites opens to the public Friday.

"It's a special place for a special community, a special time of year," said Tami Garrison, with MillerCoors Community Affairs.

A special event -- this year is themed Holiday Party -- made up of dozens of people, nine months of efforts and whole lot of electricity to power the lights.

"There's 580,000 LED's in the street," said Steve Harvey, the Account Executive from Clearwing Productions.

Clearwing is the same company responsible for running every stage during Summerfest. They say their goal is to keep families engaged, so they've coordinated four-and-a-half minutes of lights programmed to music.

It started as a MillerCoors idea about nine months ago, then they joined forces with GMR Marketing who began the creative vision, bringing in Clearwing to make it happen.

Still, it's your involvement that gets the party started.

"We'll say 'Hey can we get this party started? What's going on inside? Can we wake the people up? And then we take the cue here," said Harvey standing in the temporary control room.

Fake snow and a Christmas tree made of kegs join the dancing lights display as fun sights to see.

The display is open to the public Fridays and Saturdays from Dec. 2 to Dec. 17.
