The Milwaukee Fire Department said goodbye to one of their finest Wednesday.
Kristen Ciganek passed away after a five year fight with cancer.
Ciganek left the MFD five years ago to fight the disease, and the department said, “She displayed an incredible strength and was an inspiration to many of us as she fought valiantly over the past several years, always displaying a positive outlook.”
“Anyone who met with Kristen during her fight came away feeling inspired by her courage,” the department said on Facebook. “She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Thoughts and prayers from the entire Milwaukee Fire Department go out to the family. We are with you.”
