MERTON — The Merton Community School District closed schools on Friday after they became aware of a possible case of COVID-19, or the coronavirus, in their community.
The district said they became aware of the possible case within the school community and closed schools in order to deep clean.
The district said they are working with the health department. School buildings will remain closed through the weekend. It is unclear if they expect to open back up on Monday.
