MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department said it is investigating after a man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting Tuesday.

The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of N. 44th Street.

A 26-year-old man was shot and pronounced dead on the scene. A 54-year-old woman was also shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to the hospital.

The circumstances that led to the shooting appeared to be drug-related, officials said. They are now seeking a known suspect.

Correction: Milwaukee police initially said a suspect was in custody so that is what TMJ4 reported. MPD has since sent a correction saying they are seeking a known suspect. That has been changed in the story above.
