MILWAUKEE — On Thursday, Mayor Tom Barrett commented on the death of George Floyd, calling it a "horrific murder."
He tweeted Thursday about the incident, saying "The horrific murder of George Floyd that America witnessed is shocking, undefendable and unjustifiable."

Protests have broke out around Minneapolis and social media is blowing up with people calling for justice.
This death has been a hot topic around the country after video of George Floyd's arrest went viral.
Video of the incident shows that a white police officer had Floyd pinned to the ground with his knee on Floyd's neck. In the video, you can hear Floyd asking the officer to stop and saying he can't breathe.
People are calling for the arrest of the officers, and acknowledging that racism is still present in communities all over the country. Barrett even acknowledged it in his own tweet when he said that this death, "underscores the very serious challenges we face in combatting racism in our country."
