Mayfair Mall will keep their tradition alive and remain open on Thanksgiving Day during special hours.
Senior General Manager Chris Jaeger said that based on feedback from retailers and shoppers, they have made it optional for mall retailers to open at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
Jaeger said "many" of the mall's stores will be open to allow customers an early start on their holiday shopping.
Dozens of other retailers have come out and pledged to be closed during the holiday this year.
Jaeger said that a complete list of mall hours will be available on their website later this month.
