MILWAUKEE -- Marquette University will break ground on a new residence hall next month.
The $96 million facility will be located at 17th and Wells. It will feature two 375-bed resident towers connected through the lower levels by a dining and campus community space.
The residence hall will house freshmen and sophomore students. It's expected to open in time for the 2018-19 school year.
Once the residence hall is fully operational, the university will develop a plan to demolish McCormick Hall, which is more than 50 years old.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
