MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee-based entertainment and lodging company plans to buy a cinema operator that has 14 Midwestern locations.
Marcus Theatres, a division of the Marcus Corp., is acquiring Wehrenberg Theatres, which has nearly 200 screens at 14 cinemas in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota.
The purchase will boost the number of screens owned by Marcus by nearly a third with the company operating 885 screens at 68 locations.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The corporation's other division is Marcus Hotels & Resorts.
