The man who stole a Porsche and led police on a chase through the streets of Milwaukee last fall will spend the next 33 years behind bars.

Deandre Wise was back in a Milwaukee County Court today. He begged the judge for a light sentence.

"Please judge. Don't take my life from me. I just got sidetracked by all the bad around me," he said.

The chase ended with a shootout at a playground. Glendale police officer Eric Guse was grazed by a bullet.

Guse was in court today and says "I remember the blood flowing in my eye and thinking I'd been shot. I remember the thought of not getting up."

Guse asked the judge to give the car thief the maximum sentence.

"He was waiting for me. He ambushed me. He was trying to kill me," Guse said.

Wise stole the car from a dealership in Glendale. He went in for a test drive, then pulled a gun on the car salesman.

Wise told the judge, "I'm very sorry and this is a life changing matter that's hard for me to deal with as well."

When the judge handed down his sentence, he said gun violence and carjackings are out of control in Milwaukee. He sentenced Wise to 33 years behind bars.
