MILWAUKEE -- A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was injured in a shooting near the Marquette University campus Saturday evening.
It happened near the intersection of 22nd Street and Wisconsin Avenue just after 6 p.m.
Milwaukee Police say the shooting victim was approached by a suspect in a vehicle and then was shot. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital with serious injuries. Marquette Police confirmed the man shot was unaffiliated with the university.
The University sent out a campus safety alert shortly after the shooting. About a half-hour later, they confirmed there was no threat to the campus.
Milwaukee Police is handling the investigation and say they are still looking for the suspect or suspects involved.
