MILWAUKEE -- A man was robbed in the lobby of a condo complex on Milwaukee's east side Thursday night.

The robbery happened at approximately 10:45 p.m. near Greenwich and Murray avenues.

Alex Anderson said he was walking in after grabbing dinner Thursday night. He said he went through the first open door of his building and checked his mail, then he unlocked his condo building.

"I came over to here, and was just really not even paying attention," Anderson said.

He assumed his locked door shut slowing behind him as normal. Instead, someone followed Anderson inside.

When he heard a noise, he turned to see three guys one right in front of him with a gun.

Surveillance video shows the robbers in Anderson's lobby, holding the gun on him. But how they got through what should have been a locked door was even more shocking to Anderson.

The video shows one of the suspects standing just outside the first door. Anderson said the robber was waiting until Anderson walked through the locked door and sprinted to it.

"Right before it completely locked, he grabbed it," Anderson said.

Police are now looking for the three men. Anderson said they took his wallet, computer and some other items.

"Be aware of your surroundings, I know it's kinda cliche but just look around. If I had looked around maybe once or twice there is not a doubt in my mind that this would not have happened," Anderson said.

Anderson said he is a concealed carry holder but he was glad he didn't have his gun on him Thursday night because he thinks he could have been shot. He also said he thinks the robbers might have gotten nervous and fired, but he said he will carry it with him from now on.
