No longer a threat after report of man with gun near UW-Madison campus

UPDATE, Monday, 8:59 p.m.: Police have tweeted that there is no longer a threat on campus.

MADISON, Wis. - A man with a gun was reported near Union South after a report of an armed robbery, according to a tweet sent out by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department on Monday at 6:15 p.m. 

UW-Madison sent a WiscAlert to students, saying a suspect was seen near University and Randall Avenues fleeing toward Union South after a reported robbery. 

The university asked students to avoid the area and find a safe place.
