FRANKSVILLE -- A Mount Pleasant man is in critical condition after being hit by a train and ejected from his vehicle Saturday night.
The collision happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. at the tracks near County Highway K and County Highway H in Franksville.
Initial investigation shows that the man drove his vehicle around the railroad crossing gates and was struck by an oncoming Amtrak train.
The 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital via helicopter.
Further investigation is still pending.
