MILWAUKEE — A 19-year-old man is dead after being shot near North and Vel R. Phillips in Milwaukee on Monday.
Milwaukee police say the homicide happened around 7:30 p.m. The victim later died from his injuries at the hospital.

Police are investigating what lead up to the shooting and seeking unknown suspects.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victim as 19 years old, in contrast to 20 years old as originally reported by MPD.
