New Berlin Police responded to a domestic violence incident around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, at an apartment complex located at the corner of South Fountain Boulevard and West National Avenue.

Police say a 24-year-old man broke into his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend's apartment, with a knife. The man proceeded to batter, choke, sexually assault, and threaten to kill the woman before he fled the scene. He also struck another 25-year-old man who was also present.

The suspect was arrested nearby and taken to the Waukesha County jail. Police say several criminal charges will be referred to the Waukesha County District Attorney's office.

The female and the 25-year-old man were treated by medical personnel. No word on their injuries.
