HUDSON, Wis. — Police in western Wisconsin say a suspicious package has been found outside a local Republican Party campaign office.
Police in Hudson, Wisconsin, were sent to the scene just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say the package, made out of a military-grade ammunition can, has been identified as a potential threat and the area has been cordoned off.
A safety perimeter was set up and a local mall was evacuated.
Police say they are working with several agencies to secure the area and are asking the public to avoid the area.
The investigation is ongoing.
