MADISON, Wis. - A man was arrested Monday afternoon after he was found sleeping in his vehicle with his son inside, police said.

TODAY'S TMJ4 sister station Channel 3000 reports that Madison police said a concerned passerby called police at 1:44 p.m. after hearing loud music coming from a car that was parked in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of North Butler Street.

Police found the driver asleep behind the wheel. A young child was also in the vehicle.
A loaded handgun was found tucked between the front passenger seat and front passenger door, according to the report. It was within reach of the child.

Police said the officer gave the young boy some applesauce and Gatorade and let him watch "Finding Dory" in the police car. An adult relative arrived to collect the child.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, told an officer he had been drinking. Police said he wasn't seen driving. The man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree reckless endangering safety and child neglect.
