PLEASANT PRAIRIE -- Four local lifeguards have been honored for helping save a young swimmer in March.

According to the Village of Pleasant Prairie, on March 7, Broden Etmans, Tyler Schwab, Leighanne Hogan and Christopher Heiberg were patrolling the pool at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex.

When a four-year-old swimmer went under, Etmans jumped into the water, checked the child’s vitals and initiated CPR.

A village spokesperson said Schwab, Hogan and Heiberg also helped perform CPR and rescue breathing.

Thanks to their efforts, the child was successfully resuscitated.
