A Facebook group based in the North Shore area wants to make sure the victim of a recent carjacking attempt and beating in Greenfield is not forgotten.

The victim, who did not share her name but wanted you to see her face, was attacked in a grocery store parking lot at 27th and Grange last month. She suffered bruises and fractures to her face after police say she was punched with brass knuckles.

The group is called KidsCycle North Shore. It started as a buy and sell group for children’s items that his now dedicated to helping people in the community. They don’t know the victim but a member of the group, Kai Gardener-Mislove saw the story and put out a call for folks to donate items for a healing basket.

“The response was overwhelming. I thought it was so important to show her and her family that she has the community behind her. It is something special to reach out to people that you don’t know and to spread kindness," Gardner-Mislove says.

The healing basket contains everyday items like lotions and gift cards to purchase comfort items for the victim and her family.

If you would like to help out, go to the KidsCycle North Shore Facebook page to connect with the group.
