Doctors say the Zika virus threat could last into the summer.
There are still no known cases of Zika in Wisconsin, but a doctor from Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare warns the disease will transmit more easily when the weather warms up and mosquitoes are back out.
Doctors say Zika will likely spread to Wisconsin in small numbers to start, but will pop up in larger pockets during the summer.
"My guess is and the CDC's guess is that there will be small sporadic outbreaks in the United States. Not large numbers it doesn't look like at this point,” Dr. Paul Hartlaub said.
Four out of five people do not show symptoms of the virus and in some cases symptoms do surface, but not until two weeks after a person has contracted Zika.
