Two-year-old Noelani Robinson was found deceased Saturday morning.
Mayor Tom Barrett released this statement in response to the tragedy:
“I am deeply saddened by the news that the body of 2-year-old Noelani Robinson has been found. She was a beautiful toddler and her life was cut short as a result of human trafficking. Her unfortunate death is a reminder of the dangers of human trafficking.”
Robinson was found wrapped in blankets in a ditch in Minnesota. She was reported missing Monday when police found her mother shot and killed at an apartment building in Milwaukee.
Robinson's father, Dariaz Higgins, has been arrested and charged for the murder of Sierra Robinson, Noelani's mother.
