WAUKESHA -- After disasters like Hurricane Harvey, many animals are neglected or have no where to go.
Lynn Olenik the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) Executive Director, joined us on Live at Daybreak Sunday to share their efforts.
On Monday, they will take in about 30 dogs from shelters from the Harvey disaster area. They expect cats to be flown in from Texas later this week.
Olenik explained donations and adoptions are needed at this time. HAWS is helping shelters in the disaster area expected to get an influx of injured and abandoned animals from the storm. They hope this domino effect will bring the animals they had to their forever homes here in Wisconsin.
