WAUWATOSA — As it turns out, Lego's aren't just for kids, because a new Lego bar and restaurant is coming to Wauwatosa.
According to TMJ4's news partner, the Milwaukee Business Journal (MBJ), the new restaurant and bar will be located at 10600 W. Bluemound Rd. and will operate as a play cafe during the day, and a bar at night.
“If you’re 18 months old, you can play with Lego,” said owner Scott Shelnutt. “If you’re 80 years old, you can play with Lego. It’s a place for everyone to … unwind, relax and escape 2020 if they can.”
Shelnutt currently owns Tosa Block Party, a Lego-themed birthday venue, at 7251 W. North Ave. That venue is now moving and becoming the Lego bar and restaurant.
Shelnutt said his business is inspired by how he bonded with his kids by playing with Lego.
He plans on opening the new location this month, but said the kitchen may not be available immediately. When the kitchen is ready, they will serve pizzas, pretzels, and other food geared toward birthday parties and the bar environment.
According to MBJ, the current location is 300 square feet, but the new location will be around 2,200.
