People showed up as early as 3 a.m. to get in line for Lakefront Brewery's annual release of its Black Friday beer.
The beer, a barrel-aged imperial stout, is only available to buy each year on Black Friday. It's also on tap at the brewery's bar today.
"We put everything we possibly can into this beer," said owner Russ Klisch. "Today's the only day, so if you want to come down you have to stand in line."
When the doors opened at 8 a.m., the line snaked around Lakefront Brewery's property and down the block along Commerce Street.
"We got here at 4 a.m.," said Brad Klebba. "It seems like the line gets bigger every year."
"This is the biggest line we've ever had," said Klisch. "It's a nice day out. The nicest day we've ever had for Black Friday. I'm sure that has something to do with it."
Those waiting in line added they enjoy building camaraderie with their beer-loving neighbors.
"Everybody wants to have a good time and everybody is social," said Megan Koceja.
Klisch said he expected the bottles of the Black Friday beer, sold in packs of three, to run out around 11 a.m.
Each customer is only able to buy one package.
