Lake Geneva police are investigating after graffiti was found on several buildings in the north side of the city.

Garages, stores and storage units were vandalized near LaSalle St., Maxwell St., Henry St., Marshall St. and Broad St.

"This isn't artwork. This is terrible," said John Adinamais. He lives in the area.

"It's a shame. I don't know what it is. Is it out of boredom that they do it?" he asked.

Police say the vandalism happened this week. The graffiti appears to spell the word "gifted."

Police are checking with businesses and homeowners to see if security cameras we're rolling in the area, and they're also setting up their own cameras hoping to catch the person in the act.

A cash reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest.
