A CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — La Crosse police say a man accused of attacking his girlfriend is in critical condition after falling off the hood of her car as she tried to get away.
Officials say the man attacked the woman as she slept early Sunday morning, jumping on top of her and repeatedly punching her. The woman escaped from the apartment, jumped in her car and began to drive away.
WXOW-TV reports police say the man jumped on the hood of the moving vehicle. After driving several blocks the woman hit the brakes and the man was propelled off the car. Authorities say they will recommend domestic charges.
