A Kenosha County sheriff's deputy was able to revive a 2-day-old baby who was unconscious and turning blue Sunday.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the residence in the 6600 block of 236th Avenue in the Village of Paddock along with the Salem Fire Department about 6:10 p.m.

Upon arrival, officials found the infant unconscious, not breathing and turning blue. At that point, Kenosha County Deputy Michael Colaluca preformed back blows and chest thrusts on the child, eventually resuming the infant's breathing.

The baby was then transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

The sheriff's department is taking this opportunity to encourage residents to participate in basic first aid and CPR classes. Classes are available on the Red Cross' website, or through local providers.
