KENOSHA -- A pastor ousted from his church for being gay, gets the apology he has been waiting for, for decades.

Reverend Kevin Johnson was told to leave First United Methodist Church in Kenosha 35 years ago, because of his sexual orientation.
Those emotions came rushing back, when the entire congregation stood with him Sunday and apologized.

"One of the biggest acts in the Christian walk is being able to say I'm sorry," said Pastor Susan Patterson-Sumwalt, United Methodist Church in Kenosha.

"I forgive the actions of the past... and hope for a more loving future," said Reverend Kevin Johnson.

Johnson moved on to co-found Bloom In The Desert Ministries in Palm Springs, California.
