Residents in Kenosha County are bracing for another round of flooding after heavy rains this week.
Highway 50 at the Fox River is closed and could stay blocked off until Tuesday if necessary. It affects many commuters and neighbors in the Town of Wheatland.
"Earlier in the day I had no water today now here we go," said Leah Rasmussen.
Rasmussen lives and works in the area closed down.
"In a matter of a couple hours it rose I want to say more than a couple feet," Rasmussen said.
She closed her hair salon Wednesday afternoon when the parking lot started to look more like a pond.
"I'll probably have an unexpected day off tomorrow. I don't know I don't like that though I don't make money if I'm not working," Rasmussen said.
The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department will have patrols near the closure all night and into the morning.
"This is the main corridor east and west for Kenosha County so anybody commuting into the city from here comes usually Highway 50 or vise-versa going out towards Walworth County," said Captain Ken Weyker, Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.
Near the closure at Highway 50 there's another road now blocked at 328th Avenue.
"I made it through what they have now closed off earlier. I was kinda of leery about it probably shouldn't of, but made it and now it's closed," said Beth Daum.
Daum won't take out her car now.
"I feel like I'm kind of stuck because most of the surrounding roads are closed," Daum said.
She's still trying to make the best of it.
"Just take the kids out for a nice long walk," she said.
Since the flooding started later there, it made for an unexpected mess.
"They said it's gonna get worse and you don't believe it until you see it I think," Rasmussen said.
