GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Court records show a Brown County Circuit Court judge denied a proposed order requesting evidence to be permanently sealed in Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs’ case because of an improper format in the filing.
Judge Marc Hammer declined the proposed order Thursday morning. The attorneys representing Jacobs’ former girlfriend filed it Tuesday.
According to Judge Hammer’s office, the court will address the new proposed order at a scheduled hearing Sept. 24 — also when the Green Bay Packers host the Atlanta Falcons in their home opener. Jacobs is not required to attend the hearing.
In the meantime, the judge’s temporary order protecting evidence, which was issued last week, remains in effect.
Jacobs was convicted of misdemeanor battery stemming from a physical altercation with the woman last spring. He remains on the NFL commissioner's exempt list and cannot practice or play.
