The City of Milwaukee has nearly completed the roadway portion of the streetcar construction on Broadway in downtown Milwaukee. But the nearly finished product is confusing some drivers.

The city recently placed "It's ok to drive on the rails" signs along the routes where the rails are in place and it is ok to travel over them. Some drivers find it a bit difficult to navigate.

"It's completely confusing," said Frank Sorano who has lived in Milwaukee all his 73 years and saw the use and close of the old Milwaukee Streetcar.

Alyn Lottouzee has noticed people driving in the bike lane, the tracks and all over the place.

"It looks like it's built to be driven on. But I did see some confusion a few cars ahead," Lottouzee said of his travels over the tracks.

Others like Andrea Altott have noticed that it sometimes is a game of follow the leader but she used the signs to navigate.

"I saw the signs that said thumbs up you can drive on the rails, so I followed that and I wasn't really confused," Altott said.

The Milwaukee Streetcar which will be known as "The Hop" is expected to open in the summer of 2018.
