Furniture giant IKEA is officially coming to the Milwaukee area. The Oak Creek location will open in summer 2018.
The Swedish retailer confirmed the plans in a press release sent overnight.
It will be the retailer's first Wisconsin store. Currently, the closest locations are in Bolingbrook and Schaumburg, Ill; St. Louis, Mo., and Bloomington, Minn.
Sources tell TODAY'S TMJ4 this store will be located on a 30-acre plot of land north of Drexel Avenue and west of I-94.
Details about the development of the store, including exact location, store size, employment opportunities and an opening date will be revealed in a press conference at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
