A man has been charged in the hit-and-run crash that took place near Fiserv Forum after the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office previously said no charges would be filed.

Christopher Covington has been recognized as the driver who hit a family in a crosswalk after police located videos he posted on Instagram prior to the crash.

The videos show Covington in the driver's seat of a vehicle in the area of the crash about 6 p.m. on Nov. 9. This is the same time a family of four was struck in a crosswalk near 6th and Juneau while on their way to see the Jurassic Park Dinosaur show at Fiserv Forum, according to police.

The family was later identified as Danielle and Tony Eager and their two kids Dayton, 5, and Brayson, 8, of Hartford, Wis.

In police interviews, the Eager family said they were crossing the street when they observed a silver car coming right at them. The vehicle then struck the family, sending Dayton multiple feet into the air and leaving him unconscious on the ground. Brayson was on the median with an injured leg as a result of the crash , according to police.

Both children were then taken to the hospital where Brayson was diagnosed with a concussion and several bumps and scrapes to his arms and legs. Dayton was treated for multiple bruises and contusions, as well as a concussion. Danielle suffered a panic attack as a result of the crash. The father, Tony, was also treated for bruises, abrasions and contusions.

Covington was driving a rental vehicle at the time of the crash that was under this mother's name, according to police. A friend of his who was in the vehicle at the time of the crash told police he and Covington were on their way to pick up Covington's sister when they turned at the intersection where the family was crossing the street.

The friend said that he observed the family and assumed that Covington saw them as well, but when Covington hit them he yelled at him to stop, to which Covington yelled back that he was "on the run" and could not have contact with police, according to the criminal complaint. That's when Covington fled the scene.

Covington is charged with four counts of hit and run - injury, habitual criminality repeater for which he faces up to eight years in prison.
