OAK CREEK -- It now seems to be the worst-kept secret in Oak Creek, IKEA will soon have a new Wisconsin address.

One agenda on Tuesday night's common council session was held behind closed doors. It was about giving a tax incentive to the company to develop its first Wisconsin store on 30 acres of land in Oak Creek. That is exactly where sources tell TODAY'S TMJ4 IKEA plans to soon build.

Despite this, the mayor did everything he could to stay quiet.

"Sources tell us there is going to be some really big announcement on Thursday have you heard about that?" asked TODAY'S TMJ4.

"I can't confirm that," replied Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi.

This would be the first Swedish-owned furniture and home goods store to open in Wisconsin.
