Law enforcement closed I-43 southbound at HWY 164 in Waukesha County for more than an hour Sunday due to a roll over crash involving two vehicles.
The accident happened around 10:45 a.m. Sunday on southbound I-43 at Evergreen Road in the Town of Vernon.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's office says a black Chevrolet SUV driven by a 31-year-old woman was traveling erratically at a high rate of speed and side swiped a silver GMC SUV, driven by a 42-year-old man from Mukwonago.
The impact caused the Chevrolet to roll over and the woman was ejected from her vehicle. She was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The 31-year-old woman was transported by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital. The 42-year-old man and his 16-year-old passenger in the GMC SUV were not injured.
The accident is still under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.
