Hurricanes push Generac to look for employees at job fair

Wisconsin company Generac is looking to hire employees while trying to catch up on demand from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The company held a job fair at their Whitewater facility today. Approximately 75 people showed up looking for work. 

According to company spokesperson Art Aiello, the demand for generators after the recent storms and the lack of people looking for work is making finding employees difficult.

“The unemployment rate is definitely having an impact. It’s certainly making it more for of a challenge for us to attract workers” said Aiello. 

The company also hosts “Walk-in Wednesday’s” at their locations across Wisconsin. That’s where they allow anyone looking for work to come in and apply for open positions. They also say to periodically check their website
