Milwaukee police investigating homicide after man found fatally shot near 33rd and Center

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office responded to a homicide at 33rd and Center Monday morning.

According to Milwaukee police, the victim, a man in his mid-thirties, was found shot and killed shortly before 6 a.m.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Police are seeking unknown suspects.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Neighbor reacts to 33rd and Center homicide

“Nobody heard anything. No one heard a gunshot or anything," neighbor Richard Thomas tells us. “I hear gunshots all the time. Weekly. Weekly, I hear gunshots from that way. I think they’re just shooting in the air. But nobody's ever getting shot. Now somebody got shot over here.”

Neighbor Shawn Christian adds: “As I was coming out the door, the police came in rushing me like, ‘What's going on? You stay here?’ and I'm like, ‘Yeah, I'll stay here,’ and he was like, ‘Did you hear any gunshots? Did you see any strange people running around your house this morning?’”
